The Kite
Jolene ran as hard as she could with her kite in tow. She had never flown a kite by herself in her eight years of life. He dad always got it started and then let her hang onto it as he told her what to do to keep it in the sky. That day, however, He wasn’t around like he promised. That was the day he was going to teach her to get the kite in the air by herself. She glanced behind her to see if her kite had taken off yet, but it was still dragging and bumping along the grassy field. She stomped her foot and tried again in the other direction.
