April 8th – Catalyst

Haiku Triplet

Silence is not right

Raise your voice up to be heard

Catalyst for change

Listen just to learn

Voice too quiet to be heard

Within, one holds rage

No one can agree

Opinions formed sans proof

Squeaky wheel gets grease

DAY 8- CATALYST

Moisture makes the seed go bloom

Squirrel goads the dog to zoom

Churchill spoke, spurred Dunkirk hope

The Black Hand gun sparked World War I

Earworm beats prod feet to tap

‘Boom’ at night, mom shrieks “what’s that?”

Heat on ice forms instant cracks

Pokes on bears incite attacks

Soda, vinegar. Bubbles make

Fresh baked bread. Mmm, salivate

An act of terror thrusts States to change

This prompt coaxed me to flex my range

Catalyst

In cuffs, sitting on a curb.

My face hurts

Lips bleeding; bruised eye

None more injured than my pride.

Contemplation and regret

Search for blame easily met.

Would like to blame the girl

Might as well blame the whole world.

Like water, the drinks had flowed

Paid her tab and what she owed.

Thought she liked me, issue never skirted

Not the only one with whom she flirted

A man larger in height

Aching for a fight

Bigger; stronger

Couldn’t last a minute longer

Now, we two must wait

To learn our ultimate fate

While she earns drinks for free

With a flirt and a tease.
