Fortune of Hope

I'm so ready for this

Clinging dearly

gasping for air

dying of fear

dreaming of you

Finally after a fiery

thunder, tornado and famine

I'm running out of goodness

tired of looking for silver linings

ready to throw in the towel

The sun is peeking then

dramatically emerges

the browns are replaced

with the bright colours of hope

I won, I wond

The Fortune of Hope!

Fortune of Hope

-

I’ve seen the way those green-blue eyes

Look around at the world; the way they see the faces, read the books;

As if they are searching for something to make sense of the highs

And lows – peering into every one of the worlds nooks,

There are days that I wish you would look in the mirror

And truly see what the rest of us do;

The way you analyze, study, and peer

30. Fortune of Hope

To be remembered and bring a smile

A project put in place, the time to while

Provided with guidance through daily lessons

This fortunate connection is today’s blessing.

If you took the time to participate

Or even if you acknowledged it’s not your fate

Share with me my heartfelt note

This month’s challenge a fortune of hope.

Although poetry is not everyone’s cup of tea

We share our creations for all to see

Appreciation first to our challenge leaders

Of course, words are silent without our readers.

To all who tried to be a better poet

To hone your skill and grow as you know it

We look forward to our next word romp

As we…

Fortune of Hope

Hope carries us toward

A future we can look forward

It gives us strength to endure

And the power to assure

At times it may seem futile

The outcome looking brutal

Do not let go; hold on tight

Don’t give up; don’t forget to fight

Hope is a gift

That gives us lift

Hold up your chin

Your hope is your fortune
