April 23rd – Time for Change
These are trying times ---
Unprecedented, they say
Yet, I hear familiar lines
And see the drama unfold
Before my eyes
At the darkest of times
Heroes emerge, their light a bright beacon
Guiding through
Uncharted journeys
Their example a shining
Template upon which to mold ourselves
Together for good
It is true, therefore, that our power
Lies in those spotlights of hope
And compassion
Of love and unselfishness
We must look inward ---
It is time for change.

Time For Change
It’s time for change.
Children cry for a scrap of food
We need to turn the page
And improve the mood.
It’s time for change.
Humans killing one another
We need to turn the page
And hug each like a brother.
It’s time for change.
We’re killing our only planet
We need to turn the page
And stop littering – just can it!
It’s time for change.
It’s not too late
We need to turn the page
And alter our fate.
It’s time for change.
Hunger, death, hate, and disease
We need to turn the page
We can fix it, you’ll see.
DAY 23- TIME FOR CHANGE
Lil white cuckoo in the clock
Stuck on pause, your tick won’t tock
Years of dust on top and down
A tired façade, dull grey brown
Are you done? Should I act?
Hide the need to set time back?
A peek inside your leafy nest
Shines with cogs and chains at rest
A broken bellow sits askew
Otherwise, your heart looks new
My thoughts take charge, ‘pack and store’
A voice rings out, Think, there’s more
A relic born in German lands
Hung with care by Grandpa’s hands
Passed on down for memory’s sake
A family bond that must not break
A ‘spit and shine’, they used to say
Revived the history of my name
Time for Change
Yes we have time these days
Ample time
To go inward
To reconnect
To sit with discomfort
To meditate and daze
We have all the days
To gaze over the past
To be amazed at what
We can do today
Pick up the paint
Pick up the mat
Pick up the seeds
Days get tangled
I get confused
What day is today
Is it time for change yet?
