April 15th – Uphill Climb
Haiku / Triplet
Overwhelming state
Stop to contemplate your fate
Breathe. Then keep going.
Life throws you a twist
Easy path hard to resist
Trust in the knowing.
Patience. Take your time
It’s not always uphill climb
Hills shrink. Keep growing.

DAY 15- UPHILL CLIMB
Spring buds peek out, seek
Warmth. Roots pulse, suckle earth’s milk.
Sated tendrils climb.
WRITTEN BY LANA O’NEILL APRIL, 2021
Uphill Climb
Mr. Green Boots left home in ‘96
He packed his boots of green
To challenge the mighty Everest
The deadliest there’s ever been
The struggle is real
On that Nepal uphill climb
Adventure and fame is the deal
If the mountain don’t claim your life
At eighty-five hundred meters, he made it near the top
Curling up into a cave
This is where his story stops
Nothing could keep the climber safe
The unknown climber lies there to this day
So if you’re ever searching the peak
When you’re feeling brave
Ol’ Green Boots may guide you to what you seek.
