Poem by Sharon Baggs
The Tunnel of Eternity. Apr. 12th This tunnel goes On and on For Eternity It goes as far as the eye Can see Mostly straight Alongside the old trees All is silent So serene Not a word And lacking green One day we'll explore This tunnel A bit more Maybe find the beginning Because there is no end .
Tunnel of Eternity
At the mouth of the tunnel
You walk towards me
There is no hustle
The prettiest woman I would ever see
We stand before family and friends
To enter a love
That will never end
On the wings of a dove
We take our vows
And exchange our rings
Feel as much love as my heart will allow
My whole body sings
Our lips meet in a kiss
Two hearts become one
I could stay forever like this
With my wife under the warm summer sun
Now we enter the tunnel of eternity

Tunnel of Eternity
-
Take a breath, hold it deep, let it out
And take a step; long or short be no matter;
Take a step with me, take my hand, without doubt,
Don’t worry, I will hold you together so you won’t shatter.
Set your foot here, leave a print there,
Look around you, and you’ll see in these sands of time
The stories of footprint by footprint everywhere;
Why, look there, a baby foot bare.
And here, it must be the impression of a wizened fair lady
Who had so little time left,
Before the hand of Death swept her from this plane;
But worry not, you are still young, time is aplenty.
Take my hand, step here…
12. Tunnel of Eternity
A narrow focus consumes us
It’s a long and winding road
Dragging a past behind us
The burden is a heavy load.
Too worried about the future
Sadness over what is to be
The unknown is hard to nurture
A dark tunnel of eternity
Break those solid chains that bind
Practice forgiving – do not resent
Live life fully with open mind
Keep your being in the present.
