What you get from us:

  • Advertising and promotion in local papers, on calendars, event postings, posters, postcards, talking it up at events leading up to the big day, press releases, and inclusion on several web sites, social media networks, etc.
  • We are included on Culture Days event listings and are an Official 1-Day Pop-Up event for Alberta Culture Days! So brag about it :D with #ABCultureDays hashtag on social media!

What we expect from participants:

  • Invite your family, friend, co-workers - anyone!
  • Include the Words in the Park details on your social networks, web sites, and any other promotion you do leading up to the event.
  • If every author invites 5 people to attend, we will boost our attendance significantly.
  • Use the event to launch a book, have a draw, network - and have fun!

The Writers Foundation of Strathcona County (WFSC) is a non-profit society whose mandate involves promotion and support for the literary arts in Strathcona County (and beyond). Our vision encompasses words and writing as a part of our community - our county is rich with diverse creativity and we are proud to be part of such an amazing place. Words in the Park - Book Fair & Sale is an annual event now supported wholly by the WFSC under the auspices of our community program initiatives and is one of our annual signature events. In 2018, we are hosting the event in conjunction with Alberta Culture Days and, because the Arts & Culture Council of Strathcona County chose not to co-host, we are focusing our resources on an all literary event. Although we thoroughly enjoy the cultural diversity and intermingling of all artisans - we know some of our authors will enjoy the literary focus. Let's make this the best year yet!

The WFSC organization is run by a volunteer board of directors and we give back to the community under the terms of our registered Alberta non-profit society status. If you are able to donate to our event, all sponsors will be acknowledged with:

  • mention at the event on the culture stage
  • logo and/or name on advertising and promotion (web site, posters, ads, social media, etc.)
  • option to provide promotional material for display and/or distribution to participants
  • all sponsorship appreciated - $50 General, $100 Bronze, $250 Silver, $500 Gold, $1,000 Platinum

To sponsor the WFSC please contact us via email at wordsinthepark@hotmail.com and the WFSC Board will provide any documentation you require (letter of intent, invoice, receipts, etc.) Thank you for supporting Words in the Park and the Writers Foundation of Strathcona County.

To contribute online today - please use the DONATE button on the front page of our web site. Thank you!
